Wellington College

Monday 10th March 2025, 9:30am – 3:00pm

About the Event

This is a crisis of retention before recruitment: in the UK, the sector lost almost 40000 teachers who were not retiring, in both 2023 and 2024. One in 10 leaves after a year. Education needs to retain more of its trained teachers, and each school has a much bigger part in this than central authorities.

Sam Gibbs and Dr Haili Hughes are currently in the process of writing a book on this very topic, so they will bring the most up-to-date research and thinking to this most vexing of issues that the sector faces.

Attendees will leave with very practical actions and advice that they can implement in their schools.
